Hello fellow CYHCYL-Girls,
after yesterdays Q&A I thought it is funny how the same ritual – here journaling – can look different and how it can be linked in different ways to our day to day life.
A few weeks ago I started to link my existing habit of solving an (easy) Sudoku in bed with journalling. I just scribble now on the Sudoku page what comes to my mind about the last day. Sometimes just 2 words, sometimes what I remember from e.g. a podcast or a +/- list of my day. Though I have several other nice looking journals in my home, this works so far the best. It is very easy to start, the Sudoku booklet is light to hold in bed, I do not have to carry something around, and I can do it spontaneously. And using a fun turquois pen helps as well.
I love the idea of coming up with ‘heated rocks’ for my habits. Never heard that design concept before! Thanks Rima!!
Going to try adding ‘what does my future-self thank me for today?’ to my (fairly regular) daily review process. Instant gratification of small moments in ‘the smug zone’ through more noticing how am moving in the direction of ‘ideal’ each day hopefully! As well as helping keep me mindful of the overall direction/ sense of ‘ideal’.
